Course Description
This is an intensive six-day course that focuses on how to design a standards-based structured cabling system. You will learn how to design cabling pathways and spaces, as well as which cabling media to use in various applications. You will design telecommunications rooms, backbone and horizontal distribution systems, equipment rooms, and entrance facilities. Grounding, bonding, and electrical protection are covered in addition to appropriate sections of the National Electrical Code® and ANSI/TIA/EIA standards. Case studies and application exercises using blueprints are used to enhance the learning experience.

To get the most out of this class, take the RCDD Pre-Training Assessment of Current Knowledge and Experience. This assessment will show you which areas to study prior to class. It is a free, self-graded assessment (PDF).

All core and non-core chapters of the BICSI  Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (TDMM) will be covered.

Students must bring the 11th edition TDMM to class (binder version, not CD-ROM).
