ICIF Scholarships

InfoComm International established the International Communications Industries Foundation (ICIF) to address the industry's need for a high-quality workforce and endowed the ICIF with $1.2 million to fund scholarships for students and AV industry workers.

2006 — 2007 Scholarship Program

The scholarship program was revised for the 2006-2007 year..ICIF now offers two types of scholarships.

2006-2007 ICIF Scholarship for Dependents of Member Organizations

For 2006-2007, the International Communications Industries Foundation offered post-secondary education scholarships to high school seniors and college students who are employees of InfoComm member companies or dependents of employees. (See application for a definition of "dependent.")

To be eligible for this $1,500 scholarship, student dependents of employees or employees of InfoComm International member companies in good standing must be majoring in audiovisual subjects or related fields, including audio, video, telecommunications, electronics, technical aspects of the theater, data networking, software development and information technology. Students with other majors may be considered if they can demonstrate a relationship to career goals in the AV industry.

2006-2007 ICIF AV Scholarship  

For 2006-2007, the International Communications Industries Foundation also offerred post-secondary education scholarships to high school seniors and college students who are pursuing  a career in the AV industry.

To be eligible for this $1,200 scholarship, students must be majoring in audiovisual subjects or related fields, including audio, video, telecommunications, electronics, technical aspects of the theater, data networking, software development and information technology. Students with other majors may be considered if they can demonstrate a relationship to career goals in the AV industry.


Applicants are strongly encouraged to learn more about the audiovisual industry to see if the field is a good fit for them. We do have an online course applicants, students, teachers and parents can take to learn more about the AV industry: Quick Start to the AV Industry (offered free for a limited time).
