How do I prepare for the CTS test?
If necessary, you can prepare for the General Certification test by taking an online course.
You are not required to take any particular course in order to qualify for your CTS. However, the following courses will give you a solid foundation for taking the test: Essentials of the AV Industry or AV from A-Z for Sales Professionals. If you learn most effectively in a classroom environment, InfoComm also offers the three-day classroom course, Certification Prep, to help candidates prepare for the general Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) test.
I am interested in signing up to take the CTS test. How do I know if I'm ready?
You can take a short, 10-question quiz to assess your readiness to take the test:

How long is the CTS credential valid?
Three years. To renew your CTS, you must take 30 renewal units (RUs) within the three-year period. There is a wide range of courses available, including InfoComm Academy online and classroom courses, Institute courses, InfoComm seminars and workshops, approved manufacturer, private vendor and association courses, and postsecondary education (see list). If you take a course and want to have it included on this list, please ask the organization providing the course to contact InfoComm Director of Certification and Workforce Development Lou Nanni to see if it meets the criteria. This has proven to be the most effective way to add courses for renewal units. In addition to listed sources, examiners for InfoComm's specialized certification exams receive 3RUs for their participation. Instructors who teach for InfoComm receive 3RUs for each hour taught. Individuals who serve on InfoComm committees receive 3RUs for that service per year.(top)

I passed my CTS exam a few days ago, but I have not received my certificate.
