Third annual AV Awards Banquet at InfoComm 06 celebrates industry excellence

ORLANDO, Fla. -- InfoComm International®, the premier professional audiovisual trade association presented its Harald Thiel Volunteer of the Year Award to Brian Pipe, at the third annual AV Awards Banquet. The event was held as part of InfoComm 06, the largest professional audiovisual and information communications tradeshow at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

Brian Pipe is Installations Manager of Matrix Display Systems Ltd in Surrey, England and Chair of InfoComm's European Council. As chair of the council, and as former chair of InfoComm's International Committee, Pipe has worked tirelessly to ensure that members outside North America are well represented on InfoComm's Board of Governors.

"Brian Pipe is extraordinarily dedicated to the needs of InfoComm's members around the globe," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director, InfoComm International. "His efforts have ensured that InfoComm remains International in focus, rather than in name alone. But beyond that, Brian's insightful contributions to the industry have earned the respect of his peers on the Board, and the membership, as a whole."

The Harald Thiel Volunteer of the Year Award is awarded by the InfoComm Board of Governors to uncover and celebrate the volunteer who has contributed greatly to the Association within the past one to two years and who is not recognized in other ways for that contribution.

The AV Awards Banquet is co-sponsored by ARCHI-TECH magazine and CMP Media's Rental & Staging Systems and Systems Contractor News magazines.
