CTS-D, named Educator of the Year

Third annual AV Awards Banquet at InfoComm 06 celebrates industry excellence

ORLANDO, Fla. -- InfoComm International®, the premier professional audiovisual trade association presented its Educator of the Year Award CTS-D, at the third annual AV Awards Banquet. The event was held as part of InfoComm 06, the largest professional audiovisual and information communications tradeshow at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

Campanella, CTS-D, is President/CEO of MDCI of Manalapan, New Jersey. Over more than 23 years, Campanella completed more than 2,500 projects. Campanella's career expands into four disciplines of the audiovisual industry. He started out in 1981 with Blonder Tongue, helping to engineer and oversee the manufacture of some of the first pay-per-view systems equipment. In 1984, Campanella joined Smith-Meeker Engineering and was involved in the design and integration of AV Systems for Fortune 100 companies. In 1986, Campanella joined Shen Milsom and Wilke as head of the newly formed company's audiovisual design consulting department. As a partner with SM&W, he oversaw hundreds of projects spanning the globe. In 1997, Campanella formed MDCI, providing design engineering and control system software for corporations, educational facilities and residential projects. He is a member of InfoComm International's Independent Programmers' Council and an InfoComm Academy Senior Faculty member.

The Educator of the Year Award is nominated by InfoComm's Professional Education and Training Committee (PETC) to honor an individual who works to develop the skills and knowledge of others in the AV industry The AV Awards Banquet is co-sponsored by ARCHI-TECH magazine and CMP Media's Rental & Staging Systems and Systems Contractor News magazines.
